This is about as far removed from pensioners bingo as it is possible to be. This is the UK’s first contemporary bingo hall, in Houndsditch, near Aldgate. Cocktails, craft beer and wine have replaced the cups of tea, there’s some rather delicious sharing plates (think really good tacos and burgers). The callers are comedians, and the prizes are experiences. Expect an absolutely raucous night. There are intimate banquette booths or share space at the bingo tables, designed to encourage some chat between games. Each night is theme night and there is a definite, high energy, party atmosphere. In fact this is a spectacular venue for a group night out.
The callers are fast and furious, so don’t order the chicken wings at the wrong time, or you’ll never keep up. Dabbers also ‘pop up’ in venues across the country, so it’s worth checking out if they are coming to an area near you. We love Dreamland, Margate.
