Learn to draw animals, reptiles and birds at city farms, aquariums and nature reserves. This is a class where the animals are key. This is not only about sketching, but also an opportunity to hear about conservation and the habitat of the creature as you study and observe their behaviour. Choose from a large menagerie. One week it could be owls, the next reptiles, beavers, parrots, wolves or alpacas. Each lesson is supported by an animal expert keen to communicate and pass on information. If you prefer you can study on zoom, and then you really are transported to natural habitats across the globe to learn how animals live in the wild, and have the opportunity to draw animals that wouldn’t quite fit into the average London space.
All levels of ability are catered for, so really don’t worry if you have never sketched an animal before. These classes are fantastic for relieving stress as you watch and engage with the subject, and remember the classes couldn’t go ahead if the animals used weren’t confident and relaxed. In fact, many of the animals and birds used take the opportunity for a bit of a snooze, which is handy if you’re not too speedy with a pencil.
